SEO for contractors
Service pages, service areas and a Business Profile that shows up when homeowners search nearby.
Contractor SEO comes down to two places on Google: the Maps pack, where your Business Profile shows up for searches like "painter near me," and the regular results, where your service pages show up for searches like "stamped concrete patio contractor." Most calls from organic search come from one of those two. We work on both.
Fruitful Local gets contractors and local service businesses more calls and booked jobs with SEO, Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Facebook ads. Nathan Synoground has grown his own contractor companies from zero to a million in revenue in 2025 and 2026, and his team has managed $2.8M in Google Ads for home service and contractor businesses. The ads data tells us which searches turn into jobs, and that shapes which pages we build first.
What moves a contractor up in Google
- One page per service. A single "Services" page listing everything rarely ranks for anything. A page for roof replacement, one for roof repair and one for gutters each has a chance.
- Real service area pages. A page for a town you work in should say something true about working there: the jobs you do, the neighborhoods, what homeowners there ask about.
- A complete Business Profile. The right main category matters a lot. So do services, photos of real work, accurate hours and replies to reviews.
- Reviews, asked for every time. Most happy customers will leave a review if you ask at the right moment and make it easy.
- Consistent details. Your business name, address and phone should match everywhere they appear.
- A site that loads fast and gets calls. Ranking does nothing if the page is slow or the phone number is hard to find.
Built for how your trade is searched
People search for landscaping by project, for roofing by problem, and for garage doors by urgency. Remodeling and outdoor living buyers read a lot before they call. We plan pages around the searches your customers really make, then build them to turn a visit into a call.

Common questions
How long does contractor SEO take?
Longer than ads. Business Profile fixes can show in the Maps results fairly soon, while new service pages usually take months to settle in. That is why many contractors run Google Ads while SEO builds.
What is the Maps pack?
It is the map and short list of businesses Google shows for local searches like "roofer near me." It is driven mostly by your Google Business Profile: your categories, how close you are to the searcher, your reviews and how complete the profile is.
Do I need a page for every town?
Only for towns you really serve and can say something real about, like jobs you have done there or how you handle local permits. Thin copies of the same page with the town name swapped tend to do more harm than good.
Can you work on the website I already have?
Usually, yes. We start with what you have and only suggest a rebuild if the site cannot be fixed.
Do you ask for reviews for us?
We help you set up a simple way to ask happy customers for a Google review after each job. The reviews themselves have to come from your real customers.
