Facebook ads for contractors

Local ads that show your work to homeowners before they start searching.

Facebook ads work for contractors when the ad shows real work to homeowners nearby and makes it easy to ask about it. Nobody opens Facebook looking for a roofer or a patio. So the ad has a different job than a Google ad: stop the scroll, show something they want, and get a few details from the ones who are interested.

Nathan Synoground has used Facebook ads, Google Ads and SEO to take brands from five to seven figures, and in 2025 and 2026 he started and grew multiple contractor companies from zero to a million in revenue. Fruitful Local runs the same playbook for contractors and local service businesses.

What works for home improvement ads

  • Visual trades first. Remodeling, outdoor living, concrete, painting and landscaping give you before and after shots people stop for.
  • Tight local targeting. Ads should reach homeowners in the areas you actually serve, not a whole state.
  • Real faces. A short clip of the owner walking a finished job builds more trust than a polished graphic.
  • One offer per ad. A free estimate on a deck, a design visit for a kitchen. Give people one clear thing to say yes to.
  • Questions that sort leads. Asking about the project, timing and town filters out people who were only curious.
  • Retargeting. People who watched your video or visited your site get a second look at your work.

Where Facebook fits

Facebook is best at creating demand. Google is best at catching it. For many contractors the right mix is Google Ads for urgent work and Facebook for bigger, planned projects. We will tell you which we would start with after we look at your business.

How we run Facebook ads for a contractor

  1. Pick the job to sell

One service, one area, one clear offer. Ads that try to sell everything sell nothing.

  2. Make ads from your work

Photos and short videos of real jobs, written in plain words a homeowner would use.

  3. Qualify the lead

A form with the right few questions, so you spend your time on homeowners ready to talk.

  4. Follow up fast

Leads go straight to you, with a simple plan to call or text back while they still remember asking.

Common questions

Do Facebook ads work for contractors?

They work best for trades homeowners can see and want: remodeling, outdoor living, concrete, painting and landscaping. People are not searching on Facebook, so the ad has to show the work and give them a reason to ask about it.

Lead form or landing page?

Facebook lead forms bring more leads with less effort, and often lower quality. A landing page or a form with a few qualifying questions brings fewer, better leads. We pick based on how fast you can call back and how much screening you need.

What should the ads show?

Your real work and your real people. Before and after photos, short videos of a finished job, and the owner on camera explaining what they do tend to beat stock images.

How fast do I need to call leads back?

As fast as you can. A Facebook lead was scrolling a minute ago, and the longer you wait, the more they forget they asked. Fast follow-up matters as much as the ad.

Should I run Facebook ads or Google Ads?

Google Ads catches people who are already searching. Facebook ads reach people before they search. Many contractors start with Google and add Facebook for the visual, higher ticket jobs.
